Your practice software

Keep your practice software. Add the business procedures around it.

DentalIQ™ works alongside Open Dental, Dentrix, Eaglesoft and other practice management systems rather than replacing them. You import your patient list from a CSV or Excel export, and insurance checks and claims go straight to payers through a clearinghouse. Results are ready to copy into your practice software. There's no live sync, and nothing is written back automatically.

Why it matters

Under HIPAA, eligibility checks (X12 270/271) and dental claims (X12 837) are federal standard transactions, the same no matter which practice software a practice runs. That's why DentalIQ can ask the payer directly instead of going through your practice software.

How it works

  1. 1Export your patient list. From your practice software, as a CSV or Excel file. Downloadable Excel templates are available too.
  2. 2Import it into DentalIQ. DentalIQ matches the columns by name (chart number, date of birth, primary insurance, recall interval and so on). Your team checks or fixes the mapping and previews the result before anything is imported. It brings in names, chart ID, date of birth, phone, email, insurance carrier, member and group numbers, last visit, next recall date, recall interval, provider, status and notes. The payer ID, address and policyholder details are added on the patient record.
  3. 3Visits in DentalIQ. Appointments you want DentalIQ to check and track are added in DentalIQ. Checking a patient out updates their last visit, and RecallIQ can book from its call log.
  4. 4Insurance and claims go to the payer. Eligibility checks and claims go through Stedi, the clearinghouse, so the answer comes from the payer rather than from whatever was last typed into your practice software. DentalIQ reads the payer's answer in code (coverage, dates, limits); the AI only writes the plain-language summary.
  5. 5Copy back into your practice software. Insurance check results, approved clinical notes and claim payment postings each have a copy button, ready to paste into your practice software. Treatment plans are printed.

What it doesn't do

  • There's no live, two-way sync with Open Dental, Dentrix or Eaglesoft, and nothing is written into your practice software automatically.
  • There's no schedule import yet: appointments you want DentalIQ to check and track are entered in DentalIQ as well as in your practice software.
  • Patients added in your practice software since your last import come in with the next export. Re-importing updates patients already on file instead of duplicating them.
  • It doesn't replace your schedule, charting, ledger or imaging.

Where the results go

Once the patient list is in, every module works from the same patient record: InsureIQ's checks feed AcceptIQ's estimates and BillingIQ's claim checks, and visits checked out in DentalIQ keep RecallIQ's overdue list current.

Plan and price

The import and copy-back work the same on every plan. Which modules you get depends on the plan, from $599/month. See all plans.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to switch practice software?

No. DentalIQ works alongside it.

Which practice software does it work with?

Any system that can export a patient list as CSV or Excel, including Open Dental, Dentrix and Eaglesoft. DentalIQ matches the columns for you, and you check the mapping before anything is imported.

Do I enter appointments twice?

Today, yes: appointments you want DentalIQ to check and track are added in DentalIQ as well as in your practice software. A schedule import is a later decision.

Why not a direct integration?

For insurance, the current answer lives at the payer, not in your practice software, so DentalIQ asks the payer directly. Deeper integrations are a later decision.

What happens if I import again?

Existing patients are matched and updated (last visit and recall dates move forward, missing contact details are filled in), new patients are added, and nothing is duplicated.
